Feedback on the blog
Today in class, everybody partnered with a peer and gave feedback on each others' blogs. I partnered with Max Gara, whose blog is located here.
I took notes in my notebook (ignore the stuff above "Mandatory Blog Topic"):
He noted that my layout was sparse, but not overly so; it lent itself wholly to the presentation of the text. With that in mind, though, it is probably advisable to flesh out the design a bit more. This could be little flourishes, other titles, etc.
The text, by the way, is apparently almost too technical; though it is primarily for me and anybody in the technical community who is interested, it would be nice if nontechnical folk had something to read. A grandpa, for example, would probably have not much to read.
On that note, I should work to record the actual human progress involved in building this compiler. That is, it is a good idea to note the struggles I am having, as well as the personal successes.
He noted that the images were pertinent, though seemed to be primarily of code. It might be a good idea to try and vary the image subjects a bit.
Last: nobody uses black for text on the internet; it is not as easy on the eyes as a dark grey. So I am looking into that.
UPDATE: I have changed to a dark grey, the same one Facebook uses. How's it look?
